Oh what a week! Hundreds of cancelled flights, thousands of flights passengers stranded in airports for days, and one viral video incident that is too crazy to believe.  It has been meltdowns and more in the world of points and miles.

We’ve tried to keep it light around Jetsetter’s Homestead.  It isn’t easy but we know you can only read the same stories so many times.  My news feed definitely felt a bit grim today… or perhaps it was the grey skies.  There is a possibility of rain in the forecast for the next 15 days here in DFW… welcome to spring time and more possible meltdowns.  In case you need to brush up, check our advice for travel when bad weather is in the forecast – and what to do if the severe stuff hits!

We have been dealing with our own storm fun.  The storms from the last weekend caused one of the garage walls to sink 6″ (the fun of owning a 1924 home with a detached dirt floor garage).  That required emergency contractor work to put in new support bracing so the garage door could be opened and closed.  Add to that another plumber visit to repair a ground leak plus more sprinkler line issues and you have an expensive week of repairs.

What We’ve Been Writing

On Instagram

We love Instagram.  For some reason, we are having some problems this week with our embedding so the text isn’t showing up but you can follow our full account to see what these photos are all about.  I’ll give you a hint… one was an amazing tasting menu we tried here in Fort Worth at a fantastic restaurant.  The other is a hint about live blogging upcoming in May!

Coming Up

Crazy as it is, we are both STILL working remotely on projects. That means we have both been on extended stretches at home. It is nice to have time to catch up on long overdue projects and to see friends. If it extends past April, I might start to rethink my requalification strategy.

Starting tomorrow we will be the featured blog on BoardingArea.com which means a wider distribution channel for us. We’ll be taking advantage of this with bonus content. Expect to see more articles than normal, a few “best of” posts, and a few prize giveaways from our treasure trove.
