One of the things I love about travel is the ability to try new flavors of familiar branded food while traveling.  Finding interesting food abroad is always a delight – the more unusual, the better!

I’m not embarrassed to admit that I often visit foreign McDonalds just to see what is on offer.  One of my favorite discovers there are McDonald’s Shake Shake fries (French fries with special seasoned salt so coat them in) that have now been tested in some US markets (including Philadelphia and Sacramento).

Some of my favorite Starbucks flavors come from Asia-Pacific locations.  And 7-11 stores have many interesting twists on familiar brands.  I’ve seen zesty peppered Doritos from Mexico and dill pickle flavored Lays in Canada.  In the UK, I’ve been known to make a late night Tesco run with friends just to see how many unusual flavors of crisps we can nosh on at 2 am after the Tube has closed.

Distractify listed 31 of the most unusual flavor combinations from familiar brands.  I’ve seen a few of these in my travels.  Others I’d be interested in trying.

Have you tried any of these?  Which are your favorites?  What new flavors have you discovered?
