Heads up for fans of bohemian style accents. Gilt.com just opened a sale one-of-a-kind throws and pillows from vintage kantha pieces.  Kantha is a type of embroidered fabric made from saris stitched together by hand and found in parts of SE Asia.  These pieces are from Taj Hotel Design Concepts.

Vintage kantha throw at Gilt.com for $79.

Vintage kantha throw at Gilt.com for $79.

The hand stitched 50″x60″ throws are $79 and the 16″x16″ pillows are $25.  I’ve been debating a purchase myself and several pieces were snatched up quickly when the sale opened at 11 am ET this morning.  The sale runs through Sunday 10/5 at 11 am or while supplies last!

Prices on these are higher than what you’d find from a reputable vendor… but if you’ve eyed one and neglected to pick it up on your travels OR if you merely dream of a trip to Bangladesh and want the travel flavor in your décor, one of these might be perfect for you.

As with most Gilt sales, quantities are limited – more so this time since they are all one-of-a-kind.   So shop now if you want the best selection.  My eyes are on a pillow for my guest room and a throw for my media room so I hope I decide quickly enough!

If you haven’t signed up for Gilt, I’d love it if you used my referral link if you are so inclined.

(Full disclosure – Gilt gives me $25 in shopping credit for every referred client after the first purchase, which might further subsidize my hotel and/or luggage purchases through them!)
