WFAA in Dallas is reporting that American Airlines and US Airways flight attendants agree on contract terms pending ratification by union members.

If approved, this will give flight attendants at the new American Airlines the top pay rates among US airlines.

Labor relations were an important element of the American Airlines merger with US Airways with new CEO Doug Parker working ahead of the merger to reassure labor groups that the merger would help American Airlines employees to build stronger agreements as a unified airline.

Last week it was announced that ticket and gate agents as well as other service personnel for the unified airline have elected to unionize under Communication Workers of America (CWA) by an overwhelming majority vote.
