These three-day weekends are always too short.  Usually I’m traveling at the beginning.  This time I have the luxury of traveling at the end thanks to U2.  I’m lucky for more than one reason – usually I would have been bound for Europe which would have put me smack in the middle of the British Airways meltdown this weekend.

This year our plans were different.  We had tickets to see the U2 Joshua Tree tour this weekend in Dallas so we didn’t travel. It was nice to stay home for a holiday weekend.  We enjoyed an amazing U2 show (see the Instagram recap below) and then we had three days to catch up on projects around the homestead.  Now I’m leaving on vacation at the end of the long weekend.  It feels like I just got back and I’m already off again.

Right now I should be packing – not typing.  I leave for the airport in four hours and haven’t even pulled my suitcase out yet.  It is a good thing that I spent the weekend doing laundry (and reorganizing our closet).  It doesn’t hurt that I collect packing lists on Pinterest – they come in handy!

Recapping Our Week

There is no rest around here… and apparently none for those we are covering either.

Affiliate Spotlight

We pay for 100% of our travel and other reviewed/discussed items on Jetsetter’s Homestead unless otherwise explicitly disclosed. Affiliate or marketing partnerships help compensate us for the time and resources we put into Jetsetter’s Homestead. Our major affiliate partnership is with Amazon but we also have a growing list of other companies we have hand-selected. These companies pay us a small percentage of referred sales (or sometimes just product credit) if you use the links we provide. Each week we like to highlight one of the retailers we work with and why we like them!

We have talked about our love of NatureBox before but I must share again how much I love them.  We have a NatureBox shipment arrive at our house every two weeks.  It definitely fuels our snacking.  I first became an addict after trying the Greek Yogurt Apple Cinnamon Oat Bars on Delta during their snack rotation.  I signed up and got hooked.

Around the homestead, our favorite NatureBox.com snacks include the Crème Brulee Peanuts, Coconut Cashews, Kung Pao Pretzels, Dark Cocoa Nom Noms, Toasted Sesame Stix, and Garlic Bread Cheese Crisps.

NatureBox offers free shipping on orders over $25 and will credit you for snacks you don’t like.  And unlike other snack subscription services, you set your own snack queue, so you don’t get snacks you don’t want – ever!

What’s Next?

I’m off to Vancouver today.  This will be the start of a 15 day adventure trip with my mother.  I’ve enjoyed my travels with my mother and this trip should be no exception.  After a couple of days visiting Vancouver, we will board Seabourn Sojourn for the inaugural cruise of their Alaska season.  This will be the first time Seabourn has returned to Alaska in 15 years.  We are certain the ultra-luxury line will make it a very special experience.  I’ve set up a special page – Seabourn Ultimate Alaskan Sojourn 2017.  This is where we’ll be consolidating all of our trip related posts as we go.

Meanwhile, Jim is in week three at his new gig here in Dallas/Fort Worth.  He’ll be holding down the homestead and also catching up coverage from Cuba earlier this month.  Look for those posts on this special page – NCL Sky Havana Nights Cuba Bahamas 2017.  And we’ll also have our new contributor Samantha’s first dispatch as well as our usual travel news.  It is going to be a busy start to the summer season!
