Not Again… Dallas Tornados??!!
It has been a crappy couple of weeks for weather in the South. So no one was too alarmed when sirens started sounding all across Dallas last night. Dallas tornadoes? In April? Why not?!
Right now Atlanta is a hot mess with Delta near an operational meltdown for the last few days. (I narrowly avoided that mess thanks to a last minute client cancellation for project work in Georgia this week!) Last week, we had our own fun with tornados in DFW. ‘Tis the season to duck and cover.
But last night’s sirens occurred on an evening of clear dry skies. No Dallas tornados in sight.
So why did the sirens blare? And blare.
And blare. At midnight!
All over the city.

City officials reported that the sirens malfunctioned setting them off across the city. As they needed to be manually shut down, they continued in some parts of the city for hours.
Some locals at least found humor in the situation. A Twitter parody account “Dallas Sirens” had already been created on Saturday morning.
We look forward to catching up with fellow BoardingArea blogger (and Dallas resident) Harlan from Out and Out for brunch later this morning. We hope he is rested and can provide a full report on how bad the “Dallas tornados” really were!
Were you in Dallas last night? How bad were the sirens from where you were?
It is now believed that the Dallas siren system was hacked.
