Do You Need a ManServant?

Ladies, if you hate your friend – and yourself – get her a stripper. If you love your friend, get her a ManServant.

So ends one of the best viral marketing videos I’ve seen. Although lets face it – a video that begins with talk of penis cakes and an uncomfortable video of a gyrating male stripper is bound to get good quickly! (Warning… this MAY not be safe for work depending on how conservative your work culture is!)

And so a company is born. San Francisco based ManServants is the creation of two women from the advertising industry who saw an opportunity for an alternative to traditional bachelorette party strippers. ManServants focus on being attentive, paying compliments, and fulfilling non-sexual wishes of their clients.

I first became aware of the company, still in beta-testing for a September launch, via an article earlier this week.

The company’s website describes a ManServant as “a gentleman who treats you like a queen” and suggests that you “book one for a bachelorette party or any gathering to be your personal photographer, bartender, bodyguard, and butler all in one”.

Suggested events for a ManServant include pouring drinks and photographing a bachelorette party, accompanying you to a sporting event, serving as an office personal assistant, or functioning as a cabana boy for your next poolside soiree.

I don’t know about you, but I never mind having a hot guy standing by ready to make sure I always have a full glass or any other need fulfilled… heck, that’s one of my favorite things about cruising on Seabourn!

I’m personally DYING to test drive this service on one of my future trips to San Francisco (or eventually another city if the service expands). My mind is racing at the thought of the possibilities. Perhaps we can have him drive our Silvercar up to Sonoma for a day of wine tasting. He can make sure we don’t get sunburned, hold our bags while we sip wine, take our pictures, and keep us entertained.
