Uber is kicking off a week of special events to support not-for-profit organization No Kid Hungry – and as part of that, will offer an UberLUNCH pop-up on Thursday in nine select markets.

The cities and restaurants?

  • Atlanta – Alon’s Bakery & Market
  • Austin – Easy Tiger
  • Dallas – SMOKE Restaurant
  • Denver – Rosenberg’s
  • Los Angeles – Border Grill
  • New York City – sweetgreen
  • Philadelphia – Sbraga
  • Phoenix – La Grande Orange Grocery
  • San Francisco – Cotogna Restaurant

More details will be available on Thursday morning in each of those city markets – eligible users will see details to opt-in to have a sandwich or salad delivered within 10 minutes.  That time suggests that the delivery radius will be within a couple of miles of the chosen restaurants.

All of the proceeds will be donated to No Kid Hungry.

Not in one of those markets for Thursday lunch?  On Tuesday or Wednesday, users in most US markets can elect the DONATE button when selecting a ride and have an additional $5 donation added to their ride fare.  That option will also be available in select markets on Thursday.

And on Friday, a lucky few in Boston, New York City, and Washington DC can chose UberCHEF and have a celebrity chef make a visit to prepare a home cooked dinner for a party of 4 to 8 guests for $50 per guest.

More details can be found on the Uber blog.
